Blonde roasts are an often-overlooked style of coffee. Light-bodied and acidic, they retain more of the original flavors of the coffee bean and plant. Where darker roasts tend to have aromas and flavors of roasted nuts, toast, chocolate and even ash, blonde roast beans will produce light and airy aromas of grass and fresh grain and elicit flavors of citrus, light fruits and even pine.
Blonde roasts retain the most caffeine of any roast type while at the same time, somewhat counterintuitively, the lightest and most fruitful flavors and aromas. Some also tout the enhanced medicinal qualities of blonde roast coffee, even using it in health and wellness practices.
We are happy to offer our coffee in a blonde roast to showcase the strength of our shade-based, organic and biosphere sensitive growing process in each and every cup you drink.
Blonde roast is offered in all our bag sizes – sample, medium and large – and available in whole roasted beans and pre-ground roasted beans (was that a typo? Rowan’s Royale doesn’t offer pre-ground bags of coffee…).
